Ring This Broken Bell

Ring This Broken Bell by Deterior The first Deterior album in four and a half years. It's been a long road to Ring This Broken Bell , and I'd like to thank everyone still here for sticking around to see it come out. It's been a bit of a personal struggle for me to finish, but I'm glad it's done, and I hope it was worth it for all of you. Album announcement

It's time. I've spent too long sitting on Ring This Broken Bell . Official release is February 19. You can check out the preview on the Bandcamp page . Tracklist: I Woke Up and All of Us Were Crying (9:56) To Defy and Dissent (7:21) We March as Ghosts (7:58) Ring This Broken Bell (10:12) A Hole Where the Sun Used to Be (10:19) As usual, another drastic shift in sound and style, this time hearking more back to ye olde instrumental post-rock Deterior, but more polished and refined (at least I like to think so).

2018 update

Hello friends. It's been a while. It's been the usual life-getting-in-the-way excuse I always make, but rest assured (if you were curious) that Deterior is not dead. Instead I've been finding other creative (non-musical) outlets and there's been more real-life stuff going on for me lately. Despite that, new Deterior music has actually been in the works for the last four-ish years, believe it or not. I've been working off-and-on with an album's worth of material that has actually been pretty close to being finished for a long time; it's just a matter of final polishing and a couple more recording sessions to wrap things up (vocals and horn—that will be exciting, if it works out). No more black metal this time; I've been playing around with some old styles (and new as well). It is going well, I think. It would be nice to get it finished and released this year, although I've been telling myself that for about two years now. Maybe getting this post ou...

Music for... tapes on Bandcamp

Image
The three experimental / noise cassette EPs have finally made their way to lossless downloads and streaming on Bandcamp! Originally released in 2008 and 2009, these three tapes were my first forays into noise and sound art before spinning off my solo stuff . (I kinda want to start getting back into that!) As usual, they're pay-what-you-want for the digital downloads. Music for Nucleonics by Deterior Music for Automata by Deterior Music for Battery by Deterior There tapes are still available for sale, too (just pay S&H). If tapes aren't your thing, there is a very limited number of CD-R Music for Tapes compilations left.

Free downloads are back!

I bought more free download codes. Hop to it!

Bandcamp

Apparently we ran out of free downloads on the Bandcamp page , so I've had to set the price to $1 for the time being. The free download counter will reset next week on September 3rd. And of course it's still always free to stream.
